LGBT Film Review: Mosquita & Mari

My LGBT movie of the day was Mosquita & Mari (2013), a simple, down to earth, honest, funny, and charming coming-of-age story about two queer Latina teens who gradually fall in love, but don't know how to act out or express their true feelings for one another. This is one of those movies where not a whole lot actually happens and where you really wish the characters and their relationship could have been developed more, but it was just so adorable, well-acted, and felt so real that I couldn't help but love it despite its shortcomings. It captured young puppy love exquisitely and left a lot to the imagination, especially at the end. Quiet, but powerful.
